KLIUC OFFERS NEW PROGRAMME IN BUILDING
AND INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE

Buildings such as the shopping and sport complexes, government buildings, tower blocks, apartments and condominiums as well as infrastructures which include roads and highways, bridges, dams, drainage and sewerage systems need to be maintained for the whole of their operational life.
 
For the above reason, Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University College (KLIUC) has embarked on the Bachelor of Technology (Honours) in Building and Infrastructure Maintenance (BTBIM) programme to give the students the proper knowledge in this field of building and infrastructure maintenance.

Building and Infrastructure Maintenance programme at KLIUC is specially designed to produce graduates who are knowledgeable and competent in construction maintenance practices and possess the combination of technical and management skills to maintain in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair of all buildings and infrastructures.

This programme also to forge technologists with professional attitudes, good ethics and leadership in handling construction maintenance projects.

This three years programme covers the fundamental knowledge in Building and Infrastructure Maintenance including Construction Technology, Maintenance Management, Construction Safety & Health, Building and Infrastructure Defect and Diagnosis, Building Measurement & Analysis and so on. Aside from these knowledge and skills, students will also gain additional knowledge such as Entrepreneurship, Principles of Management, Basic office Application and foreign language.

In the next few years, it is believed that the demand for careers in building and infrastructure maintenance will be more than double. Building and Infrastructure Maintenance careers can provide promising future, limitless opportunities, and a personal challenge to working environment.

Entry Requirements
The entry requirement for BTBIM is at least STPM with 2 relevant Principals or Certificate in Matriculation/Foundation or Recognised Diploma or other qualifications as accepted by the Senate with minimum CGPA of 2.00.
